A fractional SDR manager

A fractional SDR manager is a part-time leader for reps you already have, or for a fractional team. They set targets, coach, review messaging and report. They do not usually do outreach themselves. This is a different purchase from a fractional SDR.

Cost reference

No benchmark for a fractional SDR manager is published. The nearest public figure is the Gofractional benchmark for a fractional district sales manager: about $7,500 to $11,400 a month, based on roughly 13 hours a week at $145 to $220 an hour. The site calls its sample small and the benchmark directional, and the role is a field sales manager, not an SDR manager, so use it only as an order of magnitude and get quotes.

In a full-time setup, the Bridge Group's 2025 report gives about 6.4 SDRs per leader, which suggests a manager's cost is spread over several reps. With one or two reps, a full-time manager costs more per rep, which is the case for a part-time leader.

When it makes sense

When it does not

If you have one rep and a head of sales who can give weekly feedback, a manager adds cost and little else. If you want someone to run the whole program for you, a managed pod includes management in its price.

What to ask

Their SDR-specific experience, hours per week, what they report and what they need from you. Fix those in the contract.

FAQ

Is a fractional SDR manager the same as a fractional SDR?

No. The manager leads reps and does not usually prospect. The SDR does the outreach.

What does a fractional SDR manager cost?

No SDR-specific benchmark is published. Treat the district sales manager reference above as an order of magnitude and ask for quotes.

Can the provider's manager be my manager?

In a managed pod, yes. That is what the pod fee pays for.
